1. How do I refine my job search?

ExpatCareers.com offers innovative search functionality that enables you to see the results of your searches in real time. You can refine your searches on every page using the sliders and selection options on the left side of every search results page. Alternatively, if you're used to standard job searches, you can access the Advanced Search facility from the menu bar (select ‘Modify Search’). (back to top)



2. How do keyword searches work?

Keyword searches can help make your job search experience on ExpatCareers.com faster, allowing you more time for you to view and apply for jobs that are more relevant to your requirements. You can use keywords to perform a search by job title or to search the entire job advertisement. There are various advanced yet simple to use keyword search options, which are available. We recommend that you choose a region, location and / or category to help target your results more accurately. (back to top)


 

3. Do I have to select a job category when I perform a keyword search?

No! Unlike most job sites ExpatCareers.com wishes to make your job search experience as simple as possible. Our goal at ExpatCareers.com is to ensure we offer a simple to use site therefore ensuring your job search experience is hassle free. Our sophisticated systems ensure that you get to the jobs faster, ensuring that you spend more time where it counts - reviewing opportunities and applying for jobs! Due to our modern systems we do not require job seekers to select a job category when performing a keyword search however we do suggest using as many filters as possible to assist with targeting your results more accurately. 4. How do I run the same search as last time?

If you sign up for an account with ExpatCareers.com (it is entirely free) there are many useful tools for both job seekers and employers. The useful tools include but are certainly not limited to being able to save searches, save job alerts and save jobs. When viewing a job you can even select to ‘tell a friend’. All these options can be selected from the user menu on the job search results page. These can be managed though your My Account panel. (back to top)


5. How do I save jobs that I want to apply for?

To save jobs, simply select ‘Save this Job’ on the user menu when viewing a job. If you are not already logged in you will be prompted to login or register (it is entirely free). These saved jobs will be accessible to you through your ‘My Account’ panel. (back to top)


 

6. How do I create and manage my own account?

Simply click go to: http://www.expatcareers.com/registration/ and register today. It is free to register and provides both job seekers and employers with some of the most advanced features currently available in the industry. (back to top)


 

7. What is a Featured Job?

Featured Jobs are highlighted at the top of search results. In the search results these jobs are also highlighted in a different color so job seekers are aware that they are featured listings. (back to top)


 

8. How do I register for job email alerts?

Login to access your ‘My Account’ panel and select ‘Job Alerts’. You can then easily manage your job alerts. Don’t forget to ensure ExpatCareers.com is in your email safe list. (back to top)


 

9. How can I change the frequency of job email alerts I receive?

Login to access your ‘My Account’ panel and select ‘Job Alerts’. You can then select all your job alerts and change the alert frequency. (back to top)


 

10. How do I unsubscribe from job email alerts?

Login to access your ‘My Account’ panel and select ‘Job Alerts’. You can then delete / deactivate one or all job alerts. (back to top)


 

11. I've set up my subscription to receive my expat job alert emails but I haven't received any emails yet! Why?

We'll only send you expat job alerts where there are job advertisements that match your profile. However, some Internet Service Providers also have very sensitive mail-filters in place which may prevent job alert emails from reaching you. In this instance, you may want to consider setting up your profile using a free email service such as Hotmail, Yahoo Mail or Gail. To ensure you receive all of your emails, remember to add ExpatCareers.com to your email safe list. (back to top)


 

12. I subscribed to daily expat job alerts, but I didn't get one today. Why?

To limit the number of unnecessary emails we sent to you, we'll only send you expat job alert emails when there are fresh opportunities available to you that meet your criteria. The broader your job hunting profile, the greater the frequency of alerts you are likely to receive. (back to top)


 

13. Help, I've forgotten my password!

Click on the forgotten password link which is located under each login link on our website. An email will be sent to your nominated address with instructions on how to reset your password. If you are still having problems you are welcome to contact our Support Team. (back to top)


 

14. How do I make sure I receive emails from ExpatCareers.com?

Adding ExpatCareers.com in your email "safe list" will ensure that you receive communications from us. A quick search of your email program's help functions should provide you with instructions on how to do this. For your convenience, we've provided instructions for some of the more popular email systems below.

Hotmail users, please select "Options" and click on "Junk E-mail Protection". Click the "Safe List" link. Enter "ExpatCareers.com" in the fields provided and click "Add".

Yahoo Mail users, please select "Options", "Filters" and click the "Add" button. In the "From header" input field select "contains" and type in "ExpatCareers.com". At the bottom of the page, you can elect to "move these messages to your inbox" or a designated folder of your choice. Finally, click the "Add filter" button located at the bottom left side of the page to confirm these settings.

Gmail users, please add admin [at] expatcareers.com, apply [at] expatcareers.com, sales [at] expatcareers.com, subscriber [at] expatcareers.com and support [at] expatcareers.com to your friends list. Alternatively, if our emails are directed to your "spam" folder, simply check the box next to the email and click on the "Not Spam" button.

Outlook users, select Tools, then Options. Select the Preferences tab and click on the Junk E-mail button. Select the Safe Senders tab, and then add "ExpatCareers.com" to your safe list and click OK. (back to top)


 

15. I signed up for expat job alerts but I receive too many jobs. What can I do?

You might want to try refining your search criteria to cater for more specific job categories, sub-categories and locations. You can also opt to have your expat job alerts sent as a weekly digest to minimize the number of emails you receive. Simply select the option from the ‘Job Alerts’ option in your My Account panel. 16. I clicked on a new link in my expat job email but the ad has expired. Why?

By default, job ads posted on ExpatCareers.com expire at a set period from its publishing date (typically 28 – 45 days). Job ads may also be removed from circulation by advertisers who may have secured a candidate or have received sufficient applicants for the advertised position earlier than anticipated. 17. I received an expat job alert today but when I do a search on the site, there are jobs that weren't listed in my email. Why?

It's more than likely that the ads you are looking at on the site are fresh opportunities, added to the site after the job alert has been dispatched. In such a case you should receive it in your next job alert email. There is also the possibility that the job doesn’t completely match your expat job alert criteria. (back to top)
